Malaysia Later Life Malaysia

A plain introduction to retiring in Malaysia on a modest income.

About this blog

Later Life Malaysia is a short public blog about retiring in the country on a modest income. The stories introduce the cities people try, the costs that matter, an ordinary Tuesday, healthcare as you age, and the difference between wishing to stay and being allowed to stay.

It is not a law firm, a clinic, a bank, or a migration agency. Rents, medical bills, and visa rules change. An article can be right about the shape of a choice and wrong about this year's number. Check the number with the people who set it.

The site itself is a Drupal project. Stories are Article content. The look is a theme called Selamat, which lives in the project under the custom themes folder. If you are logged in as the site owner, you can edit any story under Content.

The useful next step, if the subject still interests you, is a month in one city with a notebook. Write down rent, food, transport, how you slept, and whether you wanted to speak to anyone by the third week. That page will tell you more than a second article will.
